This spa is located at No. 2 Bourdillon. Ikoyi. Lagos. Really looked forward to having the Nila Moroccan Hammam and lymphatic drainage massage. Getting to this location was a little stressful- the actual No. 2 Bourdillon is an exit and not an entrance. You’d have to enter through a nearby street. Then the code given for access was rejected twice by an already stressed security personnel who didn’t want to be bothered. Once we entered- there was no parking- this is a majorly residential townhouse like community with very little to no parking. After much turn around, we eventually had someone leaving and got a space to park. Once I entered, I was met with hot damp musty air. No AC on. I was finally led to the third floor. No lights along our parts and the air got hotter and more musty as we climbed the stairs. Finally got into my massage room and the AC here was on thankfully. For my Nila Hammam- I asked about the contents of the different solutions in the bowls to be used, my attendant had no clue. Again while in the steam room and during the Hammam sessions, the AC was off, it was hot and I requested very cold water and no hot water. Electricity was taken off couple of times, my attendant had to use a torch to get us through the steam and Hammam. During the hammam I did feel some burning, I attributed it to the heat and scrubbing. The lymphatic massage was good…but again I did feel some burning and attributed it to scrubbing and oil this time. Once done, I came outside and walked towards my vehicle and then I felt little bites here and there and yes my skin was very pink. I was unable to go in the heat or sun for 4-days and now(7days later)I have dark, scratch marks on my skin and I’m yet to be able to take a bath with a sponge. All I use is water and soap alone. Will I be back…probably just for a massage. This hasn’t been a pleasant experience… An acquaintance I spoke to stated she’s heard they use an acid and I’m not to the first to have experienced this. This should be stated on their menu or communicated with their customer ahead.
