Shehu Musa Yar'Adua Foundation

Established in 1998, the Shehu Musa Yar'Adua Foundation (SMYF) is a nonprofit that is committed to promoting national unity, good governance, and social justice. The previous award to SMYF enabled the amplification of corruption cases and galvanized collective action for accountability through creative technology use. This renewal enables SMYF to educate Nigerians and catalyze their involvement in anti-corruption and collaboration, and supports learning among Nigerian anti-corruption groups, including state and non-state actors. It is revamping Partners United Against Corruption, a web platform and repository for information-sharing and collective action. SMYF is also producing short vignettes on anti-corruption to mobilize citizen voices, foster a community of practice, and promote policy dialogues to inform and frame anti-corruption programs and priorities in the country. This award contributes to On Nigeria's goal of reducing corruption by supporting Nigerian-led efforts that strengthen accountability, transparency, and participation.
